Progress at Giffard Drive

Giffard Drive Surgery, Farnborough is receiving support from NHS England via the Estates Technology and Transformation (ETTF) Fund to double the size of their surgery. This will create a primary care facility that can offer a significantly wider range of services for benefit to the surrounding locality. The project is now moving towards a planning application which would see a major new extension built on the adjoining plot of land, and a significant remodelling of the existing surgery building to improve the range of clinical services. Delivery of the project will occur in two distinct phases to allow for continued practice operations from the same site during the construction works.

A Big Step Forward in the New Forest

Significant progress has been made over the summer on the new Hythe and Dibden War Memorial Hospital, situated on the edge of the New Forest. A planning application has been submitted to New Forest District Council for a sensitively designed new part two-storey, part single-storey  community hospital, together with outline permission for 21 family homes on land that eventually becomes surplus to requirements. A successful local community consultation event was held prior to the planning application submission, and a final decision is due from New Forest District Council by mid-December. A significant amount of technical survey work has also been undertaken to allow the project to move smoothly into the delivery phase, should a positive planning decision be achieved by year end.

Recent Work Undertaken

Park Prewett, Basingstoke

HLL acting as Employer’s Agent on behalf of NHS Property Services have successfully completed and handed over the new Rooksdown Health Centre on the 19th May 2017. The new building provides permanent accommodation for the Rooksdown GP Practice and on site pharmacy replacing their temporary modular building.

Construction work started in August 2016 and despite some challenging weather through the winter the building was completed and handed over on programme on Friday the 19th.  The GP practice and pharmacy moved into the building over the weekend and welcomed patients, and customers, from their new permanent home on Monday morning.

Two week later and removal of the modular building was completed and the construction of the car park to serve the new Health Centre commenced.  The car park is due to be finished in July 2017 completing the project works on site.
